Monochromatic

Happy Valentine's Day (yesterday) ya'll!!
I hope everyone had a fabulous Valentine's Day weekend filled with love, pretty flowers and, of course, chocolates!!
We had a relaxed weekend spent with family that was visiting. We did do brunch on Sunday at one of my favorites- Trio, and I treated my hubby to his favorite on Saturday night- Cafe Rio! It was actually kind of fun having Valentine's Day on a Sunday this year because I felt like it was an entire weekend of VDay festivities!
So yesterday after brunch and church, I made my hubs snap a few photos of my outfit for a quick instagram post. Well, being the great hubby he is (and because he is so trained to do the blogger hubby thing), he made sure to snap a good 20 photos or so to make sure I had just the "right one". After looking through them I kind of loved how they turned out and since I loved this outfit so much I decided to make a whole post out of it! So don't mind that they are just taken in front of my cute elderly neighbors garage door and that they are taken with my iPhone!
I love a good monochromatic look. It's always tricky matching colors that are just similar enough without it looking too matchy matchy. My trick with this is sticking with two main pieces, a top and a bottom, and making sure the hues are just close enough without matching perfectly. I also stick with the more neutral color, even when you're dealing with colorful colors like pinks and reds, it's a lot more difficult to match a bright hot pink with a softer pink than it is to match two blush hues. I have pinned a few of my favorite monochromatic looks to my Pinterest board HERE!
Happy Monday!! XOXO
