  1. this is AMAZING! as a girl that curls her hair constantly, it's great seeing alternate ways to get those beach waves. whenever i sleep on my hair wet, it looks DRY. i can't wait to try this!

    thanks, girl.

    1. It is by far one of my favorites and is MUCH easier on your hair than using all that heat! So glad you like it! :)

  3. wow great video, I love that you do a french twist instead of a braid, I am going to try this tonight. The twist I think is going to give more a wave instead of the kinky curls from the braid. Thanks so much for the tips and tutorial!

    1. Exactly! I had tried all sorts of braids before and didn't think the twist would hold at all or keep the curl, but it stays so great and that little bit of product is a huge help in making sure your curls stay in place :)

  7. I did this all the time last year! I find since my hair has gotten longer they don't hold as well, but yours looks super cute!! It's always great when you dont have to do anything after you take then out! :)

    1. I thought that same thing about my long hair since it pulls on the curls and usually doesn't stay- that's why I use the little bit of product and it actually keeps the curls from falling out or not looking curled.

  8. Hi there! Love this tutorial--thank you! Quick question...does it leave a part in the back of your head from splitting it down the middle? If so, how do you combat that? Thanks again!!!

    1. Not at all! Granted I have really thick hair, I haven't noticed any sort of weird part or odd look in the back- it all ends up blending really well!

  10. I LOVE this! And I LOVE your blog! Quick question.. I use Moroccan oil too and it's my favorite thing ever. Do you use it before your use your root lifter and curl mousse or do you go without it? Thanks for the cute tutorial!

    1. Oops, I totally spaced mentioning it! I absolutely use it- I always apply it after my hair has had a minute to dry and let it sit on the longest, however I usually only apply it to the very ends, especially if I'm planning to use other products like I did here. If I'm not using a lot of product I will apply it throughout my hair, but if there's more than one or two other things going into the hair I don't like caking it all on :)

  14. Thanks for doing this tutorial, Robyn! I tried it last night, and it worked SO well! I have really thick hair like you do, so my hair generally doesn't like to hold curl or anything, even with product in it! It's now late afternoon, and the waves are still there!! Thanks :)

  17. I saw your tutorial awhile back and have tried it multiple times but my hair always turns out frizzy and only a tiny bit wavy not even curly :( wish this worked for me it's adorable!. I have always had trouble with getting my hair to hold curl maybe that it idk

    1. Ahh, I'm sorry, that is frustrating! Do you use a good product for the frizz? I have pretty straight hair and with the products I use, it held the curl really well!
