the unexpected...

21.10.13

there are definitely moments in life that really take you back and make you realize how precious life truly is and how quickly it can be taken. my sweet hubby's grandma, only 73 years old passed away yesterday. a week ago she was over at our house, holding our newborn baby and talking and laughing with us. she had been battling health issues for the last two years including lung cancer at one point and it finally took its toll. she was a beautiful, amazing person inside and out and i am lucky to have known her and been in her life for the past 4 1/2 years and am so grateful to be able to call her my sweet grandmother as well. it's so hard to understand why people are sometimes taken from us so early or why our heavenly father takes the best of them, but apparently there is more for her to do in another place.
all i could do was come home, hold my sweet, perfect and innocent baby tight and remember that there is so much good and happiness still and that grandma is now in a happier place!
we love you so much and will see you again!

  1. I'm so sorry for your loss... I completely understand I lost my dad a month ago... it's so surreal... but yet I take so much comfort in the fact that I'll see him again! Hugs to you and your family and I'll be praying for Peace from heaven... the only kind that Jesus gives...

  2. I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad four years ago, suddenly and tragically, and then a week later my grandmother (his mom), and a year later my grandfather who'd been bed ridden for several years. It's so hard, but you are right... you have to remember the good and live with all the wonderful memories you created. My thoughts are with you and your family. May you all find peace and live out the joy and happiness she brought to your lives.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss my dear. Life works in mysterious ways and death is one we will never understand nor comprehend. At least she got to spend time with your beautiful baby and that is a moment you will be able to treasure for the rest of your life. Thinking of you!
